Blowing Sand
Early in the morning, after a storm had passed, we hiked up the Mesquite Dunes in Death Valley for a sunrise shot. The morning started off just as we had planned, with nice clouds in the sky and no wind. Sitting on one of these dunes in the desert with the sun starting to rise is such a great experience and ever so peaceful. As you can see, it didn’t last for long. The wind picked up and the sun only peeked out of the clouds ever so slightly. After getting the blowing sand in just about every imaginable place on our bodies and backpacks, and getting this shot, it was time to retreat and go back down from these wonderful sand dunes.
