Dogwood Along Merced

The Mountain Dogwood tree is common throughout Yosemite Valley, but especially along the banks of the Merced River in the western half of the valley. In spring, they produce showy, cream-white blossoms.

I captured this image of a Dogwood in bloom along the Merced River. The wind cooperated and the Dogwood blooms remained still during a long exposure that allowed the Merced River flowing in the background to take on a silky effect.
